The Seatran Ferry company is raising its prices for the second time this month, affecting residents and tourists heading to the Surat Thani islands from 27 March 2026.
On 27 March 2026, Seatran Ferry company, which operates the routes from Don Sak port to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan in Surat Thani province, announced a new fare increase. This measure, the second of the month, follows a 6 baht per litre rise in the price of diesel.
All types of vehicles and passengers are affected, with adjustments proportional to the distance. The new fares apply in both directions on the Don Sak – Koh Samui and Don Sak – Koh Phangan routes, the latter being longer and therefore more expensive. This increase inevitably impacts users, whether local residents, tourists or hauliers.

Here are the new fares from 27 March 2026:“With the diesel increase of 6 bahts per litre, plus the ferry rise from 580 to 670 bahts, I have to absorb higher costs for my goods transport service from Surat Thani town to Koh Samui. I will have to pass this on to my customers, creating a domino effect. Fuel shortages are also forcing queues at petrol stations. The authorities must listen to the affected professionals,” testifies Mr Kreaengkrai, owner of a delivery pick-up that makes the daily trip.
