An Israeli couple is accused of using a Hebrew Facebook page with over 30,000 members to offer visa and document services to attract foreigners to the island of Koh Phangan and elsewhere in Thailand, raising serious questions about the legality of these practices.

Information circulating widely on Thai social media implicates an Israeli couple who are promoting, via a highly followed Hebrew page, services to help obtain visas and administrative documents for settling in Thailand, particularly on the island of Koh Phangan.

« This activity raises numerous questions: are the services offered legal? Does the couple have the necessary authorisations? And above all, are they not encroaching on the prerogatives of the Thai authorities? », comments a post by an activist on Facebook.

Many internet users are questioning the potentially illegal nature of these practices, which could amount to the illegal exercise of immigration activities.

In the face of the growing controversy, an urgent call is being made to the competent authorities to intervene swiftly.

« We ask the administrative services, the Immigration Police, as well as the bodies responsible for labour and tourism to investigate these facts without delay. If they comply with the law, this will clarify the situation. Otherwise, measures must be taken immediately. »

This case comes amid heightened scrutiny of foreigners’ activities in Thailand’s tourism and immigration sectors.
