This Sunday 24 May 2026 at Hat Chaweng on Koh Samui, a volunteer taxi driver was beaten then shot dead by a mafia taxi gang. A citizen video contradicts the police version and pushes the widow, mother of a one-month-old baby, to flee to seek justice.
According to updated information, the tragedy is the work of the black-plate taxi mafia who accused the victim of encroaching on their territory by picking up passengers at Hat Chaweng.
The young man, described as taxi driver Jitt A Sa (and volunteer soldier), was violently beaten before being shot at point-blank range in front of shocked tourists.
The local authorities had claimed that all CCTV cameras were out of service and that only one individual was involved in the incident.
However, a full video filmed by a citizen and passed to the family shows that the victim was subjected to a collective assault before being brutally murdered, which does not match the police’s initial statements.
In light of these revelations, the deceased’s widow decided to take her barely one-month-old daughter and flee to ensure her safety. She asked her relatives to contact the organisation Sāi Mǎi Tǒng Ròt to obtain justice for her family.
