Volunteers from Trash Hero Koh Samui and locals collected more than 320 kilograms of waste on Bo Phut beach to preserve the marine environment.

On 25 October 2026, the amphoe of Koh Samui, in collaboration with the “Trash Hero Koh Samui” group and local volunteers, organised a clean-up operation on Bo Phut beach, in the Bo Phut district, Surat Thani province. Nearly 320 kilograms of waste were collected during this action named “Planting the plants of kindness, we act for good with the heart”.

This initiative aimed to make the beach cleaner and more welcoming, while encouraging residents to participate in protecting the environment and preserving coastal resources.

Trash Hero Koh Samui brings together Thais and foreigners committed to regularly collecting waste on the island's beaches. The group works to limit the impact of waste on marine ecosystems and promote more responsible waste management.

The organisers remind everyone that they can help preserve the beauty of Koh Samui by not throwing their waste in public spaces and by reducing the use of single-use plastic.
