Koh Samui: Israeli Arrested at Airport for Land Nominee Fraud on Koh Phangan

Thai authorities have arrested an Israeli national at Samui Airport in a nominee scheme for the illegal acquisition of land on Koh Phangan. The arrest forms part of a wider police crackdown on foreign land ownership fraud.

Thai authorities have apprehended an Israeli national at Samui Airport in a case involving nominee arrangements for the illegal acquisition of land on Koh Phangan.

Thai police services have arrested an Israeli national at the airport of Samui, in Surat Thani province. The man is suspected of having participated in an illegal scheme allowing foreigners to circumvent land ownership legislation.

This arrest forms part of Operation « Crackdown on Foreign Nominee Networks on Koh Phangan », launched in mid-May 2026. It has already led to the issue of 45 arrest warrants. To date, 27 suspects have been apprehended.

The individual arrested, identified as Alisa, aged 30, is a shareholder of Alisa Paradise Co. Ltd.. He is accused of having provided false information to the land registry in order to acquire land on Koh Phangan through Thai nominee shareholders.

Investigators intercepted him as he attempted to re-enter Thailand on 10 June 2026. According to the police, Alisa allegedly used an accounting firm to register his company and recruit Thai citizens as nominee shareholders.

The suspect has been transferred to the Koh Phangan police station for further judicial proceedings. The authorities have announced that they will continue their investigations, in particular with the accounting firm involved.
