Police forces raided twelve sites in Bang Lamung district, seizing real estate worth over 800 million baht illegally held by foreign nationals.

At dawn on 21 October, Major General Chatree Suksiri, commander of the Chonburi provincial police, led a large-scale joint operation in Bang Lamung district. Twelve locations were searched based on warrants issued by the Pattaya court, in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Commerce and the Land Department.

In a luxurious 1.2-rai villa located in soi Ruam Suk 12, investigators discovered three Chinese nationals who had recently arrived in Thailand. More than a hundred computers still unassembled were seized, while bank statements revealed monthly movements of around 200,000 baht in a personal account.

The investigation uncovered twelve suspect companies, eleven residences and sixteen plots totalling around fifty rai. All the properties, valued at more than 800 million baht, are believed to be held through Thai nominees. In total, 85 Thai and foreign individuals are involved in the inquiry.

The Land Department stated that any illegal acquisition will result in a forced sale procedure within 180 days to prevent any nominee substitution.
