American content creator Chris Barnes, 37, accuses two men, Avery and Pressure, of assaulting and robbing him on the night of 18 October in Pattaya. He releases the CCTV footage.

In a video posted on YouTube on 20 October, American YouTuber Chris Barnes recounts being the victim of an assault and robbery in the street in Pattaya. According to him, the incident took place around 1:15 a.m. on 18 October, opposite Soi 15 on Pattaya Second Road.

That evening, Chris Barnes had gone to a bar to meet someone and film content. He was carrying a camera and a bag. He claims he ran into Pressure, a man he already knew and with whom he had exchanged messages several times. The latter greeted him normally before inviting him outside to talk.

The CCTV footage released by the content creator shows Avery – a man Chris Barnes says he had never spoken to – hiding behind a car. A few seconds later, Avery emerges and strikes the YouTuber. Chris Barnes claims that once he was on the ground, Pressure kicked him in the face.

The two men then allegedly seized his bag. It contained cash, bank cards, a DJI Osmo Pocket camera, Apple AirPods and his passport. Chris Barnes notes that Avery threw away the earbuds, which he was able to recover using the location feature, but the rest of the items were not returned.

The YouTuber filed a complaint at the Pattaya police station. He states that investigators have the CCTV footage. Financially affected by the theft, he has also launched an appeal for help from his subscribers.
