Following a violent argument with a Turkish national, a 32-year-old Uzbek woman threw herself naked from the eighth floor of a condominium in Pattaya, landing in the swimming pool.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on 31 October in a condominium in the Nong Prue district of Pattaya, in Chonburi province. Neighbours raised the alarm and emergency services and tourist police attended the scene.
On arrival, rescuers found the 32-year-old Uzbek woman, completely naked, who had fallen from the balcony of room 812. She had no serious injuries, but appeared intoxicated and was speaking incoherently. Paramedics had to cover her with a towel.
Nearby, a 41-year-old Turkish man, bleeding from a head wound, was waiting for help. According to initial reports, the pair had been involved in a violent argument inside the apartment. The injured man left to seek assistance while the woman locked herself inside.
Investigators found signs of a struggle in the bedroom as well as cannabis paraphernalia. The woman then opened the balcony door and, despite pleas from emergency services, jumped.
« She was standing naked on the balcony, shouting and appeared to be under the influence of substances. Then she jumped in front of us », a rescuer said.
Police are continuing their enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of the argument and the responsibility of those involved.
